10-2.Transmission of Heat
normal
Two rods are connected as shown. The rods are of same length and same cross sectional area. In steady state, the temperature $\left( \theta \right)$ of the interface will be........ $^oC$

A
$60$
B
$73.3$
C
$46.7$
D
$37.3$
Solution

$\frac{\mathrm{d} \mathrm{Q}_{1}}{\mathrm{dt}}=\frac{\mathrm{d} \mathrm{Q}_{2}}{\mathrm{dt}}$
$\frac{2 \mathrm{k} \mathrm{A}(100-\mathrm{T})}{\ell}=\frac{\mathrm{k} \mathrm{A}(\mathrm{T}-20)}{\ell}$
$200-2 \mathrm{T}=\mathrm{T}-20$
$3 \mathrm{T}=220$
$\mathrm{T}=\frac{220}{3}=73.3 \mathrm{K}$
